Latest Dental & Implants Treatments

Dental Implants

Conventional Dental Implants are small titanium screws that are fixed into the jawbone, which in effect, acts like the root of a natural tooth. Natural tooth coloured Dental Crowns are then secured over the Dental Implant. Conventional Dental Implants are extremely robust and can be used to replace a single missing tooth or to create a complete set of new teeth for those patients with multiple missing natural teeth or those patients with no teeth at all! They come in varying lengths and widths that are chosen to provide the most natural looking, robust smile, to suite your particular face.

Mini Implants

Mini Implants can be ideal for replacing missing teeth or securing dentures. Mini Implants can be placed in a much shorter time than Conventional Dental Implants. If you are in need of dental implants, but you are discouraged by the higher cost or waiting time, then your ordeal may be over and your solution at hand with Mini Implants.

Bone Grafting

For some people, bone loss after the removal or loss of teeth leaves them without enough bone in the jaw to secure Dental Implants. Our highly experienced and renowned team can provide Bone Grafting as a solution. A small amount of bone is used from the back of the patients jaw or from the chin area and screwed into the area which has the bone deficiency (and where Dental Implants are to be placed).

Crowns and Bridges

A crown completely covers the tooth above the gum line and protects it. Crowns are made of gold or porcelain or a combination of both. The combination crown has been the primary material of choice, however the usage of all porcelain crowns are now rapidly on the increase due to stronger porcelains being available. These crowns look much more lifelike.

A bridge replaces missing teeth by fixing a replacement tooth (or teeth) to the natural teeth at each end of the gap. Some bridges have crowns at each end. With others, the replacement teeth are stuck just to the sides of the teeth beside the gap. Bridges are often made of metal, porcelain or ceramic materials.

Endodontics

Endodontics is a specialty of dentistry, that deals with the tooth pulp and tissues surrounding the root of a tooth. The pulp (containing nerves, arterioles and venules as well as lymphatic tissue and fibrous tissue) can become diseased or injured and thus is unable to repair itself. The pulp then dies and endodontic treatment is required.

Nerve Repositioning

Nerve Repositioning is a technique that is performed in the back end of the Lower Jaw and when a patient has missing teeth in this area and requires a Dental Implant. This technique is performed when the patient does not have enough Jaw Bone to accommodate the Dental Implant or the quality of the Bone is not robust enough to hold the Implant. The Nerve (Inferior Alveolar Nerve) is located within the Lower Jaw and must be repositioned so that the Dental Implant can be placed.

Orthodontics

Braces improve your smile by gently pushing teeth into correct alignment. It is now a popular and effective treatment for adults. Tom Cruise has recently had an orthodontic appliance fitted. Teeth that are correctly aligned can resolve gum disease, headaches, facial and jaw pain. Your mouth will be healthier and teeth will be easier to clean.

Ramus Frames & Blades

The Ramus Frame Implant is a one-piece rail, suspended just above your gum tissue. It is constructed of titanium, a metal compatible with body tissue. Ramus Frames are used to secure problem dentures. Whilst wearing dentures over may years, the jaw bone under the denture recedes to such an extent that conventional dental implants cannot be used.

Blade implants also is a type of endosseous implant (placed in the bone). Blade Implants are flat titanium Implants with one or two metal prongs on one long side. A blade implant is placed in the jaw so that the prong(s) stick out into the mouth where they will support Crowns or Bridges. Blade Implants are usually used in the back of the mouth where a patient has no teeth. Blade Implants are extremely robust, especially where there are greater forces on the teeth at the back of the mouth.

Sinus Grafting

In the upper jaw above the back teeth, it is possible to increase the height of bone available by creating new bone in the sinus. This procedure is called a Sinus Grafting and was pioneered by Dr Hilt Tatum. A skilled surgeon can deliver very predictable results in this location and without the general success of this technique many patients would be unable to have implants in a part of the mouth where teeth are so commonly missing.

Subperiosteal Implants

A Subperiosteal Implant is used is used to secure dentures and when the bone has atrophied (receded) and jaw structure is limited. the lightweight, individually designed, metal framework fits over the remaining bone, providing the equivalent of multiple tooth roots. it may be used in a limited area or, if all the teeth are missing in the entire mouth. the amount and location of available bone determine the kind of implant that is best to use. natural tissue membrane or bone will grow back around either implant making it even more secure.
